About "Little Alks in the impressive Magdalena fjord on Svalbard"

About the artwork

An expedition to Spitsbergen has always been high on my wish list as a nature photographer. This rugged and mystical archipelago high in the northern ice sea, a place where so much Dutch history lies of our sailors and explorers.
During the expedition we also visited this colony of little auks which nests on the flanks of the mountains on Spitsbergen during the spring and summer season. The picture was taken at 3 o'clock midnight with the purpose to show the little auks in their natural habitat of the great Magdalena fjord with the eponymous glacier in the background. The climb up is no sinecure, paths are missing, it is steep and slippery, and the birds are in the most impossible places. And then you have to reach them without them flying again and all the climbing has been for nothing. With a lot of patience I was able to make the perfect picture here, which reminds me of this fantastic place. The midnight sun made the experience complete and provided the beautiful pastel colors in the sky and on the mountains.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
