The Werk aan de Groeneweg, an fortification built in the interbellum between the two world wars to reinforce the outdated Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie at this location with bunkers and trenches. Built for war, it is now a beautiful and peaceful location, especially on a beautiful spring morning like this.
Although the morning fog had disappeared by the time I took this picture, the interplay of lines created by the earthen ramparts, trenches and flowering rapeseed provided the perfect foreground for the old flowering fruit trees in the background.
