Black and white photo of an old colander with beautiful light. I like to take photos of objects that most people don't consider photogenic. I usually find these objects around the house. So too in the kitchen, where you can find all kinds of things: utensils, pans, glasses and sometimes just something left over as waste after making dinner. Many things are useful for taking special photos with them. After all, every thing, every object has its own texture, its own colour, its own shape or its own special pattern, and so does this colander. It is an old, metal one that I actually rarely use any more. Sometimes I put tomatoes in it, or fruit, so I use it as a bowl, but you can also light it beautifully and that gives this effect. Particularly artistic and beautifully shaped, for the ultimate effect of light and shadow, I took the colours out of the photo. This way, the dot pattern of light and shadow comes out even more beautifully. This photo fits perfectly in, for example, a modern kitchen!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
