The Triumphal Gate is one of the most famous sights in Innsbruck. It is located at the southern end of Maria-Theresien-Straße.
Triumphal arch in Roman style, built in 1765 by Empress Maria Theresa on the occasion of her son's wedding. When the Triumphal Arch was built, the southern exit to the city was located here. The Triumphal Arch was commissioned by Maria Theresa in the 18th century and built in the Baroque style.
Innsbruck's old town with its historic buildings such as the Golden Roof, the Hofburg, the Ottoburg and the city tower is located right in the heart of the city. The old town is easy to explore on foot. Everything is traffic-calmed and easily accessible. The Nordkette mountain range can often be seen in the background, which is particularly picturesque. The narrow alleyways invite you to stroll around.
The Golden Roof is a late Gothic oriel at the New Courtyard in Herzog-Friedrich-Straße in Innsbruck's Old Town and is considered a landmark of the city.
The city tower is a good 50 years older than the Golden Roof. It was completed in 1450 and is adjacent to the old town hall.
