This motif was created over 25 years ago, when computers were nowhere near as powerful as they are today. I had myself photographed naked in a photo studio. I then had myself cropped and placed in a virtual 3D prison. The basic data took several weeks to compute back then.

The motif of my own imprisonment expresses all my despair and my inability to grasp and understand my life.
In a dungeon built from airy stone blocks, I come to the realisation that I am the pawn of an outdated system.
system. Not really free in my decisions, I remain in a thicket of all kinds of dogmas and parities that only inadequately describe or satisfy my own values.
I am part of a social system that is no longer able to provide me with a real sense of purpose and a higher goal. However, meaning and purpose are an indispensable part of a healthy basis for any form of society.
Will an outcry or a violent outburst make a difference?
This pictorial work is the second generation of the original work. The chain links are now modelled on a horizontal figure eight. Infinitely enduring realisations have been consolidated. However, the masonry remains "airy-fairy".
I seem to associate variable as well as irrefutable wisdom with this motif. The light situation has become much colder - and yet hope remains! (At least I hope so.)
