I had already seen the exhibition of Polish artist Igor Mitoraj's magnificent sculptures twice at museum Beelden aan zee Scheveningen, and was surprised to find them in Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciènces). This architectural building complex in the drained Turia river is a special attraction in itself, but with the metre-high bronze sculptures by Igor Mitoraj, altogether breathtaking. These sculptures depict the concept of 'broken beauty' and with their green oxidised colour, they perfectly match the azure waters of this open-air museum. Unfortunately, this was a temporary exhibition, because it is a perfect match!
