Jaisalmer, popularly called the "Golden City" is one of the most famous destinations in the state of Rajasthan. Located in the westernmost region of Rajasthan, the city is known to be in the middle of the Thar Desert. Gadi Sagar Lake, one of the tourist attractions in Jaisalmer, was originally a man-made reservoir built to provide water for the people of Jaisalmer. The lake's shores consist of shrines, temples, ghats and Chattris where one can enjoy boat rides or just enjoy a leisurely stroll, especially on Sunday afternoons
