About ‘IJmuiden pier’ by Hans Lok

The south pier in IJmuiden juts out into the sea for at least two kilometres. A long stretch of a kilometre and then a bend with the little green lighthouse at the end. A mighty structure that withstands every storm. Protected by large concrete blocks that are nevertheless sometimes thrown over the pier by the raging sea. But this is a calm day with little wind so you can walk all the way to the end. Even with a covered December sky, this is a relaxing almost meditative walk. Mostly, because of the prevailing south-west wind with some of it at your back and some of it against.
This is where all shades of grey come together. From the darker grey, almost black of the pier with the grey road to the lighter grey of the sea with the almost white stripes and the mixture of greys in the sky. The two interrupted by the darker stripe of the dunes and coast.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
