This jackdaw, photographed on Texel, posed it seemed. Despite my 'clicking' he stayed put. Its plumage and the details in it come out nicely. A jackdaw like you haven't seen before.
I also like how the blue sky seems to come out of his ears. The eyes really look at you as if it wants to say 'what are you doing ' I'm just sitting here looking pretty.
The image is also a bit like 'Big Brother is Watching You'; I'm watching you, as if it has briefly stepped away from the stage of Harry Potter.
This is one of the images of birds I make because I am inspired by the freedom that flying birds have to move anywhere and see the world from all sides.
I therefore want to depict birds in a way, as few people see them. A little bit apart, in other words.
Other birds I 've photographed differently' are chickens, storks, spoonbills and swans. To be continued...
