The Garden of Delights is the title traditionally given to a triptych by the southern Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. It holds a special place in European art history because of its unique late-medieval imagery. Opinions are divided on its exact meaning. Most authors agree that the painter here denounces the sinfulness of humanity. According to the latest views, this is a "paradise of convenience", in which mankind imagines itself to be in a situation as it was before the Fall, with no awareness of danger and no knowledge of good and evil.
