During my tour of Kyrgyzstan, we also stayed 2 nights in yurts at Tash Rabat.
Built in the 10th century, this monastery served for centuries as a refuge for silk caravans from Kashgar, who sought to protect themselves from snowstorms and bandits here. The caravanserai is beautifully situated, surrounded by imposing rocky peaks in a narrow valley.
From the yurt, which was opposite the old monastery, I took a walk through that narrow valley.
And what a beautiful walk it was.
I started walking along a small stream behind our yurts, but at a certain point it became too boggy to walk on.
So then I followed the path that you can see here on the photo.
Along the way, I also came across this herd of yaks and I thought this was such'a beautiful scene that I captured it too .
