About ‘Golf in the bay, San Sebastián’ by Urban Archive

I took this photo on the beach at San Sebastián in March 2025. What stands out is the line of the wave that divides the image into two parts. Surfers are scattered across the water, waiting for the right moment, whilst one surfer is just riding the wave.

The city lies in the background, with the buildings along the beach on the left and the hill closing off the bay on the right. This creates a clear demarcation of the space. The water itself is relatively calm, making the wave stand out even more without the image feeling cluttered.

The light is diffused by the clouds, keeping colours subdued and the contrast low. This ensures that the focus is on form and line rather than colour.

For me, this image is all about timing and perspective. Everything happens simultaneously, but at a leisurely pace. It fits well in an interior where you want an image that creates a sense of space without feeling too empty.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
