About ‘Giraffes next to the Chobe River’ by Marco Schmierl

In this image, two majestic giraffes stand on the riverbank, just after drinking at the water's edge. The green vegetation that lines the river fades into a golden, drier landscape, providing a striking contrast in the natural colour palette. The giraffes move in almost clone-like synchrony, further emphasising their elegant and graceful appearance. Their tall necks are a perfect perch for the busy oxpeckers, small birds that maintain a symbiotic relationship with these beautiful mammals by removing parasites from their skin.

Interestingly, this scene not only shows the natural beauty and elegance of the giraffes, but also a small hint of human influence: A water tower can be seen on the horizon, indicating the proximity of human settlements. This combination of wildlife and human presence raises further questions about the balance and coexistence of nature and civilisation.

The giraffes manage to impress us in this setting by acting in almost customised harmony. The image conveys a message of tranquillity and admiration for the graceful wilderness, while at the same time admonishing us of the need to preserve and protect this fragile balance.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
