Ginkgo biloba leaves form an irregular pattern on a dark green background. The colour scheme is white, mint green and lemon yellow on an army green background. Ginkgo biloba leaves are beautifully graphic and ask to be recreated. I am lucky that there is a ginkgo tree behind my balcony, scattering its leaves over my balcony in autumn, and in spring I look forward to the tree blooming again and forming new leaves. I have a great affinity with patterns and see them everywhere; on textiles, ceramics, wallpaper and other objects. So it was nice to make a work that is pattern-like but not rigid. The leaves are scattered across the surface, so to speak; some overlap and some do not.
The technique I used for this is pen on paper and then I post-processed the whole thing in photoshop. As a wall-filling wallpaper, this work is particularly beautiful and brings a bit of the outside in, while also being beautifully clean and graphic.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
