I was out and about in Wiedenbrück when my eyes caught on an inconspicuous tree trunk. At first I thought it was just the rough bark - but then something moved! A tiny, perfectly camouflaged bird flitted nimbly upwards. A treecreeper! ??
These birds are true masters of camouflage. With their speckled plumage, they almost blend in with the bark as they climb upwards in small spiralling leaps.
Moments like this are pure happiness for me. They show me again and again why I pick up my camera in the first place. It's not just about the perfect picture, but about the feeling behind it - the amazement, the joy, the feeling of being at one with nature. ??
