A stormy day on the Mediterranean Sea, the sun peaked between the clouds. This turned the sky a beautiful orange and the wind caused gannets to fly fairly close to the shore. Which made for great opportunities for images like this.
On stormy days, seabirds are blown towards the coast, which can provide scenes that do not take place on normal days. Here in the Netherlands this also happens with a westerly wind, in southern Spain the same principle with a slightly different wind direction.
Ronald Buitendijk started a few years ago with photographing animals he was looking for. With great pleasure he goes looking for wild animals to put them on film. Of course this is done in a way to disturb the animals as little as possible.
