The Fushimi Inari is one of the most beautiful temples in Japan. It is a temple with thousands of orange/red gates that eventually form a path and rise to the top of the mountain. The temple was dedicated in the 8th century to the Inari Okami, the Shintō god of rice. There are 13020 orange/red colored toris to be found. Within the Japanese religion a tori is seen as a traditional gateway and symbolises the transition from the 'normal' world to the 'holy' world. You can usually find them at every temple but not in this enormous quantity. Each tori is donated by a person, a family or a company. It is believed that this brings prosperity and good health.
To capture the temporary, transient and beautiful in images, that is photography to me. Nature, man, something... In everything there is a certain beauty, purity and fragility. The art is to see it, to expose it and to reap the astonishment.
