About ‘Forte di Bard’ by Marcel Hechler

I was out and about in the Aosta Valley in the summer when the rain started. The clouds sank so low that the mountain peaks simply vanished — and at that very moment, the fortress came into view.

Forte di Bard does not sit atop the rock; it grows out of it. Three massive tiers of light-coloured stone, stacked one above the other, with rows of small windows that hold the mountain in place like a stone corset. Below, the forest blurs into damp green; above, the rock dissolves into clouds.

In black and white, anything that would distract from the colour recedes: what remains is the contrast between the light-coloured wall and the dark mountain, the austere geometry of the windows, the sheer mass of the structure. An image for spaces that lend themselves to tranquillity and depth — studies, hallways, functionally furnished living areas.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
