About ‘Flying grebe’ by Jasper Kok
During the grebe breeding season, there is sometimes a constant coming and going of different pairs of grebes. Every now and then, a grebe chases another away, partly to show its mate that it is the strongest. Sometimes a grebe seems to glide across the water, using its wings to gain speed. This makes for some spectacular sights!

My name is Jasper Kok, I am 18 years old and have been passionate about nature photography since I was 11 years old. What started as a simple curiosity about the nature around me soon grew into a real passion.
From a young age, I spent countless hours outdoors, armed with my camera and a large dose of patience. My preference is birds: their behaviour, their singing, everything about these animals fascinates me.
For me, nature photography is not just about…
