About ‘Flowing stream surrounded by mountains’ by Martijn Smeets
Landmannalaugar is a valley in the interior of Iceland. The photo shows a flowing stream running right through the valley.
The area is best known for its ryolite rock. Ryolite is a volcanic igneous rock resembling granite. Because of this rock, the mountains of Landmannalaugar are very colorful: yellow, red, brown and gray-green.
