For this picture, I again combined oil and water to create an abstract image, with the light and ground playing a key role in the final composition. The colour tones in this work are dominated by shades of cyan and orange, creating a warm-cold contrast that gives the whole picture a vibrant, almost futuristic look. The oil bubbles float in the watery substance, being illuminated by a soft, shimmering light source that subtly highlights their edges.
The largest bubble on the left side of the composition has an almost perfect round shape, with a bright orange glow around its rim that creates an impressive depth effect. The smaller bubbles and splashes scattered throughout the picture give the feeling of a starry sky full of tiny celestial bodies. To the right of the centre are clusters of larger and smaller bubbles, fusing together to create the illusion of a fluid, organic texture. Here and there, a soft orange glow shines through the bubbles, as if a subcutaneous warmth flows through the composition.
The use of cyan and orange gives the picture a sense of contrast and harmony, with the colours complementing and enhancing each other. The subtle shadows and shimmers make the composition feel both soothing and dynamic, as if a gentle movement passes through the liquid.
