About ‘Fishing rod in the air’ by Zeno Swijtink

Above the shimmering water floated a graceful common tern, its wings flapping rapidly and sharply focused on what was moving beneath the surface. Every moment he seemed to balance between air and water, elegant and almost weightless, as his eyes tracked the movement of small fish.

The sunlight reflected off the water, making the tern glisten like a piece of silver in the sky. Occasionally he would wing a little higher, turning slightly and keeping his position perfect, as if hanging on an invisible thread. The world below him was full of movement, but he remained calm and focused, a master of patience and precision.

The photograph of this moment captures not only the graceful flight but also the thrill of nature: a small, elegant hunter in perfect harmony with his surroundings, ready to strike at any moment and capture his meal.
