About the artwork

This colourful abstract artwork features an explosive interplay of yellow, pink, turquoise and black that dances across the canvas like fireworks. The colours merge in dynamic layers as if they were telling a living story, while delicate splashes of white break through the surface like sparkling stars. A small, almost hidden detail catches the eye on closer inspection: a tiny orange spot in the centre that pulsates like a heart in the midst of the chaos and surprises the viewer.

The inspiration came after a visit to a carnival in Rio de Janeiro, where I was overwhelmed by the blaze of colour and the unbridled energy of the people. A book I read about the symbolism of colour reinforced my desire to capture this vibrancy. I wanted to create a warm, cheerful atmosphere that was like a feast for the senses - a feeling of joy and freedom.

For me, "Festival of Colours" symbolises the beauty of life and the power of diversity, an expression of community and creativity. It was created in a phase of euphoria when I saw the world with new eyes. I used a digital technique reminiscent of acrylic casting, with layers of colour and splashes to emphasise the dynamism, guided by a sense of excitement. In an interior setting, this artwork brings a vibrant, bold accent and fits perfectly with people who love abstract art, cultural celebrations or colourful designs. It evokes the energy of a colourful market.
