The waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) is a species of antelope that lives in wetlands in sub-Saharan Africa.
The waterbuck is a large antelope species with a long, rough coat. This coat is brownish grey to reddish brown, with a darker back and lower legs. Males are darker in colour than females. The ears are large and white, with black tips. A white stripe runs from the eyebrow along the muzzle to the eye. There is a white spot around the muzzle and lips. A white collar runs down the throat, almost from ear to ear. Only the male has horns. These are heavily ringed and curves slightly backwards, at the top forward again. The horns are 50 to 99 centimeters long.
