Trees give shade, they enrich the surroundings they grow in, they are depicted as wise old sages of yore in some folklore, they are the umbrellas that provide comfort and shade.
I grew up around trees and wanted to pay a tribute to all the trees that nourished my life, growing up.
In my depiction I have created stylised trees depicting the tropical forests of the North East of India. They are set against a rich tapestry of cultures, customs and natural beauty that still abounds.
This is further set against the Blue of the Mighty River Brahmaputra that flows down the region, connecting people and time.
As with my current state of mind, I'm all nostalgic and have been painting and creating a lot of art pivoting around feelings of nostalgia and reminiscence.
I do hope that we plant more trees for the future of our world and this piece of work is a tribute towards that end.
