About ‘Dresden’s Theatre Square at night’ by Alex Karg

This photograph depicts Dresden’s Theatre Square at night. At its centre stands the illuminated Catholic Court Church, flanked by the Royal Palace on the right-hand side. The historic ceremonial lanterns in the left-hand foreground serve as a framing element, guiding the eye across the expansive cobbled surface. My inspiration was the unique sense of spatial depth that the square exudes under artificial light. I wanted to capture the historic architecture in a matter-of-fact and clearly defined manner. Technically, the shot was manually exposed in RAW format to precisely balance the glow of the lamps and the deep shadows. Processing in Darktable preserves the fine texture of the cobblestones. As a wall hanging, this high-contrast motif brings an elegant, timeless atmosphere to modern interiors.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
