About ‘Carillon Pavilion in the Dresden Zwinger’ by Alex Karg

This work depicts the Baroque carillon pavilion in Dresden’s Zwinger from a monumental wide-angle perspective. The low camera angle emphasises the richly decorated sculptures and the symmetry of the sandstone façade, whilst the open archway frames the view and creates a sense of depth. The warm, raking light of late afternoon brings out the architectural details vividly against the blue sky. My aim was to capture the immense impact of this historic building in a straightforward and clearly defined manner. Technically, the shot was manually exposed in RAW format to perfectly render both the shadows within the archway and the bright sky. Careful processing in Darktable preserves the fine texture of the sandstone. As a wall hanging, the image brings a timeless, elegant structure to modern interiors. Warm ochre and deep blue form a harmonious contrast.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
