Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘Dresden by night – a golden reflection of the Old Town’ by Alex Karg

This photograph shows Dresden’s Old Town during the late blue hour, in perfect vertical symmetry. At the centre stand the brightly lit Catholic Court Church and the Hausmann Tower, whose Baroque details are reflected in golden hues upon the gentle ripples of the River Elbe. To the right, one can make out the delicate lights of the Augustus Bridge and sleeping paddle steamers moored at the riverbank. My inspiration was the absolute tranquillity that this historic setting exudes once the hustle and bustle of the day has faded away. I wanted to capture precisely this magical atmosphere: peaceful stillness paired with the warm energy of the illuminated architecture.
Technically, I exposed the image entirely manually on a tripod in RAW format to cleanly separate the nuances between the dark sky and the bright lights. The processing in Darktable simply brought out the natural brilliance. As a piece of art, it adds sophisticated contrasts to any wall. The cool blue has a calming effect, whilst warm golden tones create a cosy atmosphere. Ideal for modern spaces seeking an elegant focal point.
