About "Dreaming of Delicate White Flowers"

by Karen Nijst

About the artwork

Fantasy drawing with white lady, Jay and white flowers in the background.

About white flowers
There is something about white flowers that seems to capture people's imagination. Perhaps it is their delicate beauty, or the innocence they seem to embody. Of all the colours among flowers, white is often a favourite.

White flowers are often associated with positivity, so dreaming about them may mean looking for purity or a new beginning. A white flower represents a spiritual world, being hopeful and tapping into your potential.

About the Jay
The Blue Jay in this drawing is also full of symbolism and is both an earth and sky creature. On its wings you can see the celestial blue and on its body the earthy brown. The Jay is seen as a messenger between heaven and earth and encourages you to stand in your own power and use your gifts properly for the greater good.

Delicate life
Delicate is a word we borrowed from Latin via French, where it means 'refined' or 'tender'. But it can also indicate a 'thorny' or 'precarious' situation. Hence I used this word in the title. The scene depicted is lovely and possibly hopeful. But like life, it is fragile and breakable, which is precisely what makes that life so precious.
