For a photo competition, I wanted to create an image that brought together tranquillity, nature and history. I found that moment on the estate of Castle de Haar.
The castle reflects in the still water, surrounded by green and golden trees that serve as a natural frame. The falling leaves dance on the surface, while the towers show themselves twice - once in stone, once in water.
My inspiration came from the play of reflection: how water not only returns image, but also feeling. I wanted to capture the balance between the power of the castle and the softness of nature around it.
Although I didn't win the photo competition, this work remains a personal success for me. It reminds me how silence, light and patience together can create something timeless.
