In the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, you are allowed to wander freely in most places. Many fallow deer also live here. If you wander around like this, there is a good chance of encountering the occasional fallow deer.
Here I came across a young fallow deer that was nicely scratching its hind leg. I was far enough away not to disturb it.
Because the sun was already so low, you get a beautiful soft colour on the grass. This moment is also called the golden hour. Because of the backlight, you can see the belly hairs lit up by the sunlight. The bushes behind the animal are already in shadow; he/she is still in a strip of sunlight.
