This cyanotype artprint depicts the power of autonomy within connection. The organic, flowing lines meander in their own rhythm and direction - a symbol of following your own path. Yet they remain rooted in a larger whole. Nothing is cut off or alone. Even the airy flower at the top is a reminder: even as we rise above the familiar, we carry our origins with us.
From a systemic perspective, this image shows that being true to yourself does not mean becoming disconnected from your system - your family, your background, your community. Instead, it means: making your unique movement, in alignment with the larger field. Freedom and connection need not be a contradiction. Indeed, true autonomy arises when we feel connected, and dare to chart our own course despite - or precisely because of - that connection.
In the cyanotype technique lies the origin of photography. Working with the elements: sun, water, air and natural materials creates an intuitive process - you never know exactly what the outcome will be.
The various blue (=cyan) to deep blue colours are characteristic of this technique. This application of cyanotype is innovative and rarely (if ever) shown in this way.
