Coffee with an old coffee grinder and pastries on a wooden table

by Laura Georgi Tier- und Ladschaftsfotografie

A white cup of black coffee stands on a square plate; next to it lies a thin, golden-brown flatbread, folded and covered in dark bubbles. To the right stands an old wooden and cast-iron coffee grinder, its drawer half-open and filled with freshly ground coffee. Roasted coffee beans are scattered across the wooden table, and to the left lies a red-and-white chequered napkin. If you look closely, you can see that each bean has a flat side with a longitudinal groove. The reason for this is botanical: coffee beans are not beans at all, but the seeds of a fruit, the coffee cherry. Inside, there are usually two seeds with their flat sides touching, and this point of contact is the groove that can later be seen on every roasted bean. Only rarely does a single round seed develop – the so-called ‘pearl bean’.

The design is a warm kitchen still life in shades of brown, wood and cream. It looks great above kitchen units, in dining rooms, breakfast nooks, bakeries, cafés and holiday homes, and works well all year round.

On canvas, the wood appears warm and soft; on acrylic glass, the texture of the beans and the cast iron of the grinder stand out more sharply. A gift for coffee lovers, for a housewarming and for any new kitchen. Further search terms: coffee wall art, coffee grinder picture, kitchen coffee picture, coffee bean still life, café décor picture
