For my photo project Tilburg Anders, I take pictures of buildings and places in Tilburg that my mother has a particular memory of. My mother worked at the Tilburg University of Applied Sciences, the current Tilburg University. While walking around there, my attention was drawn to the newest building on the grounds, The Cube. A beautifully sleek building, shaped like a square box. Inside, it was a light display of sorts. The sun was shining through the windows, the screens trying to block out the light. Fluorescent lights illuminated the upper part which was obscured by the screens. I first tried to get the lines straight but at some point I saw that the lens distortion gave an original look to the photo. To make the lines stand out even more, I converted the photo to black and white. At the end of the hallway, however, hung another tapestry woven at the Textile Museum. To keep the history of Tilburg warm, I chose to keep the color of the tapestry in the photo processing.
This photo will look great in a modern interior.
