About the artwork
Enter is a small cozy village in the east of the Netherlands. It is known for its clog makers, of course from the past, because nowadays they are mainly made for tourists in all shapes and sizes. And the geese, well, they used to be herded. There's an annual goose market where the herding process is demonstrated. A third celebrity here is the Zomp, a flat-bottomed boat that used to sail on the Regge and is still made for tourist purposes and still sails on the Regge in the summer. The boat is mainly made and maintained by volunteers. The village has become increasingly modern in recent years, many really old buildings have had to make way for new, more modern versions. What you see here in this abstract work is an old part of Enter, with a view of the Church and the primary school. The zebra crossing here symbolizes the Dwarsligger, Railway sleeper, as an Entenaar is called, of course because, according to history, those Entenaars were quite stubborn. Die Dwarsligger, Railway sleeper, is also a drink that is available here. The colors used here are cyan, blue, red, orange, black and green.
