It looks like a painting, but this happy façade really exists. In an unexpected spot in an unlikely little town in the Ardèche, these bright shadings popped on my retina.
The blue checkered patterns on the shutters are reminiscent of a tablecloth, while the shadings on the door and sidewalk (in complementary colors and perpendicular in direction) are nice counterpoints. To keep things from getting too gaudy (?), the façade has been kept a little quieter, with some sort of fantasy hieroglyphics.
