I took this picture of Castle Staverden. With 57 inhabitants it is the smallest city in the Netherlands and light in the municipality of Ermelo. To take this picture I used a polarization filter to make the colors look better, I even put my camera on a tripod. Kasteel Staverden is one of the most photographed places on the estate. Staverden is known for the white peacocks that can still be found on the estate, there are even wind vanes in the shape of a peacock on the castle. The current building was built around 1900 on the old foundation of the original castle, the original castle was built by Count of Gelre. On the spot where I stood when I took the picture is a castle park.
