Calenduleae in low key
The genus grows mainly in Africa and southwestern Arabia. They are semi-evergreen semi-shrubs. The plants have alternate green oblong leaves. The daisy-like flowers consist of disk- and ray-shaped flowers that grow at the end of the twigs. Many species, influenced by cooler night temperatures, flower a second time a year at the end of summer. More hardy types flower very lushly in spring, but have no second flowering.
