Along the coast of Brittany, a narrow stream of water runs between rocks towards the sea. The tide is low, revealing sandy bottoms and rocks covered with mussels, barnacles and seaweed.
In the background is a quiet bay with gently rolling hills and a clear horizon. The surf is minimal, and the water shines in various shades of blue under a slightly cloudy sky.
The rock formations in the foreground are coarse in texture, forming a natural frame through which the eye is guided into the distance. Dark clusters of shellfish and green strands of algae highlight life in this transitional area between land and sea.
This scene captures a moment of calm, between low and high tide, in which the landscape is slowly changing. The combination of texture, water and open space makes this image characteristic of the Brittany coast - raw and soft at the same time.
