Sunrise from the summit of Mount Moses (Jebel Mūsā) in Sinai, Egypt. As the sun rises, the rocks turn warm orange and the mountain ranges cast long shadows over the dry landscape. Granite rock formations are visible in the foreground, illuminated by the first sunlight. The sky gradually changes from deep blue to soft gold as the horizon stretches across a vast, rugged mountainous area.
The location has both geographical and historical significance. Mount Sinai is located about 2,285 metres above sea level in the Sinai Desert and is known as an important site in various religious traditions. This composition focuses on the experience of silence, space and light.
The combination of rock formations, mountain scenery and sunrise makes this image fit natural themes and earthy colours. The structures of the rock and the bright morning light create a play between light and material, with a sense of timelessness and stillness.
