This is one of Zeeland's many breakwaters, this one is on the beach near Zoutelande towards Vlissingen, at high tide it is often submerged in seawater and at low tide it looks like this, completely overgrown with seaweed and fitted with old crossbeams from which a kind of pier was once made. The photo was taken in September 2023 with setting sun in the background and thus in the blue hour.
The long exposure shows the water as a velvet blanket around the breakwater, creating a dreamy image.
This is one of my bucket list photos's I still wanted to take and it turned out pretty well in my opinion. In a unique place in the world where the ocean liners pass by 100 metres from the coast and you can still see the evening sun setting beautifully.
With this on your wall, you can dream away at the beautiful beach of the Dutch coast and especially the coastline of Zeeland is.
In short, a beautiful picture that can evoke and create memories by eventually going there live and experiencing how beautiful our coastline actually is.
