In the nature reserve "De Korendijkse Slikken" there is always something to see during the day. From small songbirds to larger birds such as herons and birds of prey. When the sun goes down, it gets quiet and more peaceful. The birds then go looking for a place to sleep for the night.
Sometimes you get lucky and a bird flies by in no hurry and as it flies quietly, you can get some great shots. So this grey heron also came flying past in front of me.
The backlight of the setting sun turns it into a beautiful silhouette. The orange colour of the sunlight and the silhouette of the grey heron have a nice contrast with each other so that gives a nice effect in the photo.
What makes it special for me is that nature is so fantastically beautiful and every moment you capture never comes back. Nothing stays the same. Just look at the sunset how quickly the colours change. You always have to be ready to take the perfect picture.
