The colours got together in the art studio and decided they wanted to do something vaguely geometric. Yellow announced it wanted to be in parallel lines. But it got bored quickly and after the first few reasonably straight lines things got a little bit more wavey. The other colours announced they wanted to sit in puddles, but the hammer had other ideas and, once the colours had pooled into a pleasing combination, the hammer came down on them, mixing them, and spreading them beyond parallel lines. Well, something like that happened anyway.
