About ‘Autumn greeting on a red hat’ by Marcel Hechler

I was wandering through the autumnal forest in the Harz Mountains in October when this fly agaric caught my eye. What made it special to me was not just the vivid red cap with its white speckles — but the small, golden-yellow birch leaf that had come to rest on it as if by chance. It was as if autumn had left a greeting for the mushroom. I crouched down low to get level with the subject. The soft, blurred forest floor in the background makes the mushroom seem to glow, whilst the rich red of the cap fades downwards into a warm orange. If you look closely, you’ll spot a small notch on the right-hand edge, through which the delicate gills beneath peek out — a sign that nothing here has been staged, but that everything has grown just as nature intended.

For me, this image has a fairy-tale-like, slightly nostalgic feel — the fly agaric as a little messenger of happiness, just as we know it from childhood stories. It radiates warmth and a quiet dreaminess.

On the wall, the motif comes into its own where it is intended to create a sense of cosiness: in the living room, the bedroom or a cosy reading nook. It suits a natural, rustic interior just as well as it does as a warm splash of colour in a simple, modern room.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
