About "Attacus lorquinii"

About the artwork

Attacus lorquinii is a moth that is very similar to the Atlas butterfly but this one is from the Philippines. It is one of the largest butterflies in the world with a wingspan of 25-30 cm. On the tip of its wings appear to be snakeheads that can scare off potential predators. Because the adults stop eating, the butterfly's lifespan is short. Females (which are a lot gropter) last up to two weeks and males often die after just one week. Just enough time for a new generation.

This butterfly was photographed in butterfly garden Philodila which is located in a care facility. The butterfly garden is a place where beautiful encounters take place. It is a place of connection. It is a place of us together. Together, we care for the beautiful butterflies and the butterflies provide moments of happiness. This small garden depends on donors, gifts and volunteers. It is wonderful to see how residents respond to these happy flutterers. But everyone is welcome and are also happy to give education to schools.

All proceeds therefore go straight back to the butterfly garden.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
