Leaves are fascinating!
Every year in spring, new leaves appear on trees, shrubs and plants. During the warm months, these leaves take care of absorbing air and light and converting them into energy for the respective tree, shrub or plant. Leaves also regulate moisture so that the tree, shrub or plant in question does not dry out. So what an extraordinary process takes place in all leaves!
In autumn, many leaves no longer have any function and are 'released' and fall to the ground. But the following year, this whole cycle is repeated all over again.
So I find it fascinating how all this works. How everything works in nature anyway. There is so much to experience, learn and discover in nature. We need to take care of it.
For this reason, I wanted to highlight the leaf by turning it into a beautiful artistic work of art.
For this leafe, I created a beautiful, rustic background with the word 'leaf' in different languages: German, English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and French. I then took a photo of this background.
I photographed the leaf (of a Hydrangea) separately and after this, both images were merged with my camera.
The colours in this artwork are beautifully matched in natural and warm tones.
It has become an ode to the leaf. The leaf in the leading role!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
