This is an American spotted oystercatcher. The picture was taken in Bonaire. On both sides of the bird you can see young plants. These are young planted mangroves. In the south of Bonaire, mangroves are planted in several places to protect the coast. The oystercatcher doesn't care: it mainly looks for food in the shallow water.
