About "Alstroemeria in detail"

About the artwork

The Alstroemeria, also known as the Peruvian lily, is a flower native to South America. It is a popular flower for flower arrangements and bouquets because of its beautiful colours and long shelf life. The flowers come in different colours, such as pink, purple, red, orange, yellow and white. The plant grows best in a sunny spot with good drainage. They are often grown in greenhouses and sold as cut flowers. Alstroemerias are also popular as garden plants because they have a long flowering period and come back every year. In this case, the fine details of this beautiful flower are made more visible with a focus-stacking technique. Focus stacking is a technique used in photography to achieve a wider focus range. It involves taking multiple photos (in this case, as many as 2 individual shots) with different focus settings and later merging them in software into a single image with a wider focus range.

The process of focus stacking starts by taking a number of photos with the camera on a tripod, incrementally moving the focus point from front to rear subject. Then special software merges these photos into a single image with a wider focus range. The software analyses the images and chooses the sharpest parts of each photo and combines them into one sharp image.
