About the artwork
A particularly captivating abstract artwork in beautiful contrasting colours. The colours depicted here remind me of the beach and the sea. Beautiful teal from the sea water and beautiful soft brown with beige from the warm beach sand. These beach and sea colours create a wave movement, a perfect reference to the shades used. It is a powerful wave, originating from a kind of vortex and then fanning out in various directions.
The colours used and the difference in light and dark create an effect of depth in the artwork. A depth effect that can also be seen in real sea waves. It is a dynamic interplay of lines, however, the movement is stopped for a moment.
Despite not being a landscape photo of the view of the sea and the beach, this picture still gives me a holiday feeling. Purely because of the colours used that evoke the fine atmosphere of freedom, peace and space.
This abstract artwork in natural colours is based on a self-made photo. A photo made from a piece of metal with rust where the turquoise paint once used has already largely decayed. Extraordinary nevertheless, how the photo of this subject has been digitally transformed in such a way that it evokes a completely different atmosphere and feeling.
