About the artwork

Time seems to stand still in this abandoned, weathered kitchen. The open cupboard door reveals old plates, cups and kitchen utensils that seem to have stood untouched in rows for years. The plaster is crumbling from the walls and the ceiling is covered in a layer of straw and dust, a silent witness to decay. Every corner of this room tells of past meals and conversations that once filled these walls. The rusty taps and faded tiles are a reminder of the hardships and daily lives of previous inhabitants, traces of which are now hidden beneath a patina of decay.

The window, half obscured by dirt and moss, casts a dim light into the room, as if to bring the stories of the past to light. But instead, the light only emphasises the melancholy atmosphere of the place. There is a strange mixture of nostalgia and oblivion here, a feeling that casts a spell over the viewer and makes them reflect on the transience of life and the inexorable return of nature. This kitchen, abandoned and weathered, is a place that inspires reflection and wonder.
